Sports in the West Bengal districts will get a major boost as Eden City Maheshtala in association with Maheshtala Municipality today launched Eden City Centre for Sports, Science and Culture, the first Indoor Stadium Complex of South 24 Parganas as a part of Eden City Group’s CSR activities. Shri Asok Bhattacharya, Minister for Municipal Affairs and Urban Development, Government of West Bengal laid the foundation stone in the presence of Shri Samik Lahiri, Member of Parliament; Shri Mursalin Molla, MLA, Shri Ashok Deb, MLA and Shri Kali Bhandari, Chairman Maheshtala Municipality.
Eden City Group, the city based infrastructure developer launched their maiden infrastructure development project at Maheshtala last year. The project is being developed through foreign direct investment (FDI) by UK based Company REIT Asset Management and in association with Maheshtala Municipality. The Eden City Sports Science and Culture is the first of major CSR activities planned by the Group. This will also be a first Indoor Stadium Complex in the country with FDI investment.
This Indoor Stadium Complex will be fitted with the best of modern equipments. The Indoor Stadium will have a sitting capacity of 2,000. It will have Badminton, Volleyball and Basket Ball courts and provision for other indoor games. The Complex will also have a Science Library, a Gymnasium and Meeting & Convention Center facilities for 300 persons. There will be public spaces devoted to the exchange of ideas. The Project is poised to be the community hub for the District, as both the people from the project complex and the adjacent locality will use it.
The Project at Maheshtala aims to develop and up bring the lifestyle of not only the residents of the project but also the whole Municipality area. “We will work in hands with Maheshtala Municipality to uplift the infrastructure of the town,” said Mr. Indrajit De, Chairman, Eden Realty Ventures
Eden City, Maheshtala is spread over 22 acres, which has 2204 apartments in forty G+7 and G+15 Towers. The largest Housing Project in South Kolkata, located on Budge Budge Trunk Road is just 18 kilometres from Park Street and takes about 40 minutes to reach the Central Business District.
The Complex will be dedicated to the residents of Maheshtala at large. “This Complex aims at improving not just lifestyles of the residents of Eden City Maheshtala, but lives of the whole area around it”, added Mr. De. |
